Wayfinding System Modernization
To improve passenger navigation and station operations, I led a comprehensive wayfinding redesign initiative. The project included:
• Surveying passengers and employees to identify navigation challenges
• Analyzing pedestrian flow patterns and observing train landings
• Coordinating across multiple agencies, including Metrolink, Amtrak, airport authorities, transit agencies, corporate shuttle operators, local law enforcement, and assigned contractors
This station presented unique operational challenges, including a bidirectional train platform that required specialized signage to minimize confusion and improve passenger flow.
The final signage reflects a collaborative, multimodal approach that enhances clarity, accessibility, and the passenger experience, while honoring the station’s historic color palette.
